Answering all of your FAQ's

· Wellington Climathon

Next weekend it's going down!

The time is near and we've put together this blog to answer all your questions and ensure you are fully prepared.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself, your brain and a drink bottle to make sure you stay nice and hydrated throughout the day. Laptop and any technical gear you think might be useful for you over the weekend to help out.

How are teams decided?

You decide! People with ideas will pitch them and you can decide where you think your skills will be most useful or what idea inspires you most. From then on, you and your team will spend the rest of your time testing your ideas with resources to support at your finger tips.

Will there be food?

Dinner will be provided on Friday night and breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday to keep those brain juices flowing!

Is there wifi available?

Yes there will be free wifi available for you to log onto as well as computers for you to use.

Do I need to print off my ticket?

As long as it's ready to be scanned on your phone then you don't need to print if off #ZeroWaste.

What time does it finish and start on both days?

Things are kicking off at 5:00 pm on Friday night (be there on time please as the schedule is packed) and we'll send you home to get some much needed rest at 10:00 pm. Then the fun continues with breakfast provided on Saturday morning at 8:00 am, wrap things up at 6:30 pm, and down the road to celebrate!

Is there parking?

Mevo will be operating and offering free sign-ups during Climathon and the train station is just down the road. There is plenty of parking around the library and near parliament however, in these areas parking is restricted to two hours maximum. We will have e-bikes available to use during the event and your bike is also welcomed!

How do I get there and back?

The venue is located at 70 Molesworth Street just up the road from the train station. If you’re from outside of town, jump on a bus, a train or sign up to Mevo and jump in! Oh and we also have Onzo in the city now so the options are endless!

Do I need to have an idea?

Not at all. People who have ideas will pitch them and after that, you can decide what idea inspired you the most and think your skills could help develop.

Is it accessible to all?

There is a lift and ramps for accessibility at the venue. Please make contact with the organisers to let us know what your needs are so we can ensure they are met.

Will there be coffee?

The cafe at the Library will be open on Saturday from 9 am - 5 pm so you can grab as much coffee as you need.
